Projecte d'investigació-acció: Violència escolar i integració social

En aquest treball es presenta el Projecte d'Investigació-Acció realitzat pel grup Lisis de la Universitat de València. Des del model ecològic, l'interès està a analitzar i prevenir la conducta violenta entre iguals a l'escola. Per a això s'ha aplicat en una mostra de 1319 adolescents d'edats compreses entre els 11 i els 16 anys una bateria d'instruments. En aquest article s'exposa, a tall d'exemple, un dels models d'equacions estructurals calculats en aquesta investigació. En concret s'analitza l'efecte directe i l'indirecte del clima familiar en la conducta violenta entre iguals i en el context escolar.

Jakimovski–Leviatan operators of Kantorovich type involving multiple Appell polynomials

Abstract The purpose of the present paper is to obtain the degree of approximation in terms of a Lipschitz type maximal function for the Kantorovich type modification of Jakimovski–Leviatan operators based on multiple Appell polynomials. Also, we study the rate of approximation of these operators in a weighted space of polynomial growth and for functions having a derivative of bounded variation. A Voronvskaja type theorem is obtained. Physics beyond the Standard Model predicts the possible existence of new particles that can be searched at the low-energy frontier in the sub-eV range. The OSQAR photon regeneration experiment looks for ``light shining through a wall'' from the quantum oscillation of optical photons into ``weakly interacting sub-eV particles,'' such as axion or axionlike particles (ALPs) in a 9 T transverse magnetic field over a length of $2\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}14.3\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{m}$. Using Induced Ordered Weighted Averaging (IOWA) Operators for Aggregation in Cross-Efficiency Evaluations

This paper proposes an enhancement of the cross-efficiency evaluation through the aggregation of cross-efficiencies by using a particular type of induced ordered weighted averaging IOWA operator. The use of a weighted average of cross-efficiencies for the calculation of the cross-efficiency scores, instead of the usual arithmetic mean, allows us to introduce some flexibility into the analysis. Heat shock response in yeast involver changes in both transcription rates and mRNA stabilities

We have analyzed the heat stress response in the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae by determining mRNA levels and transcription rates for the whole transcriptome after a shift from 25uC to 37uC. Using an established mathematical algorithm, theoretical mRNA decay rates have also been calculated from the experimental data. We have verified the mathematical predictions for selected genes by determining their mRNA decay rates at different times during heat stress response using the regulatable tetO promoter. This study indicates that the yeast response to heat shock is not only due to changes in transcription rates, but also to changes in the mRNA stabilities. mRNA stability is affected in 62% of …

High energy neutrinos from novae in symbiotic binaries: The case of V407 Cygni

2010

Detection of high-energy (>= 100 MeV) gamma rays by the Fermi Large Area Telescope from a nova in the symbiotic binary system V407 Cygni has opened the possibility of high-energy neutrino detection from this type of source. A thermonuclear explosion on the white dwarf surface sets off a nova shell in motion that expands and slows down in a dense surrounding medium provided by the red giant companion. Particles are accelerated in the shocks of the shell and interact with the surrounding medium to produce observed gamma rays.
